Engaged in research – always "up to date"
Always being up to date with developments, bringing out innovative ideas, following future visions, stepping onto new technological territory - these are the criteria which drive our commitment to research establishments and universities.
The combination of research and industrial applications assists us to constantly increase our know-how and to apply it for the practical benefit of our clients.
Our commitment also encompasses the sponsorship of student research projects. This furnishes us with the potential to integrate personnel trained and skilled in state-of-the-art scientific research into our team when the need arises.

Behavioural control in digital human models
The aim of this project is to create a development environment with interaction parameters for digital human models in order to enable situational and cognition-specific user responses in simulation systems by means of parameters generated through algorithmic simulation.
The relevance of this project arises from the fact that human behaviour is not generally systematic; rather, it is influenced by both psychological and physical variables – an important aspect to which simulation systems have so far given little or no consideration. To optimise its simulation systems accordingly, szenaris GmbH is developing software to control human characters which based on the developed numerical behaviour model move and act very similarly to real human beings. The software will use basic parameter settings and the respective dynamic simulation procedures to replicate physical, energetic, mental and psychological strain.
The objective is to enable the integration of a human model controller into simulations in order to make virtual training even more realistic.

KNoTen 2.0 – complex emergency management training coupled with Web 2.0 technologies
The KNoTen 2.0 project aims to develop new qualification opportunities which take real procedures into account (e. g. emergency training onboard). In the process, psychological aspects in the conception and implementation of the real scenarios as well as in the use of state-of-the-art communication technologies shall be especially considered. The project is supposed to suggest ways to meet the challenge to fulfil increasing demands for training and education and to solve problems with optimally complying to the legal requirements. At the same time, the use of the training system shall enable the planning of all required training contents. The training system which is to be created in the project compound shall thereby fulfil the requirements set by international standards.
Our task is to create a networked data transfer and communication system to supervise, record and analyse real emergency trainings at different training locations. Commissioner for this project is the Institut für Sicherheitstechnik/Schiffssicherheit e.V. (ISV).
Project promotion: this project is supported with funds from the German Ministry for Education and Research and from the European Social Fund of the European Union.

GlobePro – Global Success through Professional Service
The GlobePro project has set itself the goal to specialise in the support of the service industry in the age of globalisation and to pioneer this in the IT industry for the global digital service economy.
The project examines the successful implementation of global business models in the digital service economy and the resulting qualification requirements for the employees. Within the project network, sustainable concepts of training and further education are to be tested and prepared as Best Practice for training and further education in the service economy

Fit4Age – Future-oriented products and services for the demographic challenges
Demographic change is leading to an ever-rising average age of the population and, simultaneously, the average age of young people able to work is decreasing. To this end, the Fit4Age research group is seeking technical solutions in order to give the aging the possibility of an active life.
Our work is in the following areas:
- "Fit4Work": People remain in work for longer. With technical, innovative, flexible and economic concepts, older employees are to be or stay integrated into industry in an efficient and sustainable way.
- "Fit4Use": Socio-scientific consultation in the development and evaluation of age-based technology is the main focus. For this, older people are integrated into the development process.

In times of globalisation, future-proof logistic systems are the deciding factor in competition and success for companies and regions. Supra-adaptivity is the cross-company adaptation of a system to changes which it achieves with a combination of versatility, networking capacity and mobility.
The ForLog research association has up until 2007 conceived and prototyped informational and organisational modules for a logistic network for the automobile industry and tested them in practice.
Within the MitLog subproject, we developed (at that time as the "Training & Simulation" division of Ray Sono AG) virtual learning environments to qualify employees in handling supra-adaptive logistic systems.
