In virtual realities, 3D models are used to represent people, places and objects. Three-dimensionality not only makes the representation more realistic, but also offers users greater freedom of movement and more possibilities for interaction.

3D models are also used in computer based (CBT) and web based (WBT) training, where they enable users to, for example, freely move objects in order to view them from different perspectives.
