Simulation

= computer-based recreation of a realistic environment

A simulation is a special form of virtual reality that aligns all its relevant parameters to the real-world environment on which it is modelled. Parameters include for example the exact proportions of machines, the physical behaviour of vehicles and objects, or muscle movements when humans move.

Simulations are used to show or teach, among other things, how machines are constructed, how to control vehicles, or how human beings behave. Virtual realities in general also include intentionally unrealistic environments.

Simulations can be implemented with all VR types: desktop VR, full simulators, tracking system. The high degree of realism is designed to facilitate successful learning transfer.
