Katzky elected to the board of "Learning Technologies" working group

The newly formed “Learning Technologies” working group of BITKOM, the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media, elected its six board members on 27 June 2012.

The board is comprised of: Sünne Eichler, Lutz P. Michel, Christian Stracke (all three from D-ELAN, which will be merged into the working group by the end of 2012) as well as Wolfgang Krämer, Joachim Worf and Uwe Katzky, managing director of szenaris. Christian Stracke and Joachim Worf were not present for the election, but have accepted the role.

The new members of the board are tasked with defining the direction of the working group and presenting this at the next working group meeting. “There are plenty of ideas. Now, however, it is important to structure and pool these ideas and transfer them to the corresponding specialist committees. That will be our first task.” explains Katzky, fully aware of his responsibilities as a board member.

Actual locations – rapidly integrated into virtual reality
The ability to create highly accurate and realistic 3D constructions for use in virtual environments is extremely important for many szenaris customers. The required scenarios must be of high quality while also providing a good cost-benefit ratio. But above all, they have to depict real training and exercise grounds as realistically as possible.

Seal of quality with distinction for virtual reality learning program
High-capacity water treatment tanks are often used in crisis regions to purify large amounts of water. Bremen-based szenaris GmbH has developed a comprehensive e-learning solution for operating and maintaining these facilities, which has now received the seal of quality of the e-learning industry association vebn (Verband eLearning Business Norddeutschland). Due to its extraordinarily high score – it achieved 97 of 100 possible points –, the system was awarded the seal of quality with distinction.

szenaris awarded framework contract for staff training at Konica Minolta
Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH has concluded a framework contract with szenaris GmbH for the creation of e-learning modules. The training specialists from Bremen have been contracted to develop various learning modules to address technical and sales topics.

Successful delivery of a virtual reality training system for makeshift bridges
After a project duration of 14 months, the training system “Cooperative Computer-Based Training (CoCBT) for the Foldable Longspan Bridge (FLB)” has been successfully handed over to the German army. The existing platform, on which the bridging systems “Amphibian M3” and “Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB)” developed by szenaris are already implemented, has now been extended by the training system “Foldable Longspan Bridge (FLB)”.

Supporting worldwide networked learning through innovative ideas and diversity
The Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co. KG based in Giengen an der Brenz, one of the internationally leading companies in the area of fire-fighting equipment, has awarded a contract for the creation of training and documentation materials for an airfield fire-fighting vehicle to szenaris GmbH. The basis for this contract is an order of 17 fire-fighting vehicles of this model for use on German Army airfields which the Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (BWB) had placed with Ziegler.
