Diving robots such as the GNOM and the Seaeye Falcon are utilised by diverse task forces for exploration and remote handling under water. In order to be able to realistically and yet safely practice the operation, szenaris has developed a virtual reality simulator for these two diving robots, in which a faithfully detailed 3D model is placed in a virtual underwater world. The underwater world includes objects such as rocks, pipelines, hulls or other obstacles corresponding to the operational spectra of the diving robots.
The diving robot is controlled in the virtual world in the same way that it is in the real world, using a gamepad.
