Learning 2040: Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE) Interviews Experts

The Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE) in Wachtberg near Bonn develops technologies and processes with the aim of identifying existence-threatening risks at an early stage, minimizing them and making them controllable. With the study “Learning in 2040”, scientists from the “Mensch-Maschine-Systeme“ (MMS) department have currently designed a scenario for future learning. The main focus is on the central questions of where, when, how, with what and what we will learn.

The scenario was developed with the help of expert surveys using the Delphi method. In this structured, multi-stage survey, a group of experts provides answers or assessments to specific theses and questions, on the basis of which a consent is reached.

SZENARIS Managing Director Dr. Uwe Katzky, with his decades of experience in the field of digital learning, was one of the experts interviewed. Like the other experts, he emphasized the central importance of digitalization of learning for future (lifelong) learning and work processes.
